Middle School Legacy
Mixed Media mural that provides a visual history of the Jr. High/Middle Schools. Created by Jackie Clements, Fine Arts Instructor for Blytheville Middle School. This mural features images taken from yearbooks from East Jr. High School, West Jr. High School and Blytheville Middle School. As well as collected photographs from David Cooke, Public Relations Director for Blytheville Schools. The mural's time frame covers from 1975 through 2016. As part of the display, memorabilia from the aforementioned schools completes the display. Visitors are welcome to view this mural during school hours. The mural is located in the Blytheville Middle School Library.
Photos taken during the building of the panels for the mural. A total of 14 panels would be made. Mrs. Clements and her students would take about six weeks to complete this art work.
Volunteers Ben Rutherford and Loyd Danner would take the responsibility of hanging the panels in their new home in the library. The Blytheville Courier News did a feature article on the display. Click on the first picture to see the article.
